I returned to farming in 2010 after 30 years in computer work. I had a small farm, a JD 3020 tractor, a field cultivator, and a hayrack. My first planter was a John Deere 7000 8RN. My bother-in-law and cousins had John Deere, Ag Leader, and Precision Planting monitors which I could not afford. So I built my first planter monitor in 2008 and have just kept enhancing it. Farmers found out about it and I started selling a few and then built other monitors and gadgets for myself and other farmers. I’m now semi-retired and continue to develop stuff for farmers because it’s fun.
